Clash of the mighty regency (last years league runners up) against last years knock out cup winners Kirkstead.

A continually improving Kirkstead team against the odds went 2 up with unexpected loses for Adam Moss & Billy Pearson. But with Danny Whittaker, Steve Jakes, Ryan Turner & Lee Applewhite in fine form the visitors took a 4 - 2 early lead. The Kirkstead rot was stopped with both Princes Mr P & baby C, before Lincs A Team player Simon Baxter put a notch up back for the visitors. Hlaf time score 5 - 4 Regency.

Switching to 2 tables at the request of Regency to speed up the evening, lead to something of a revival with the Kirkstead who managed to get to 7 - 7 with 4 to play. First up was BIG MINT KID for the Kirkstead who snookered himself on his last ball of an 8 ball clearance & ended up never seeing his ball again. Paddy Prince then managed to turn around a lost cause of a game over a quality 35 minutes (seemed to go much faster) to beat Lee Applewhite. Mark Newey held his nerve over a 30 minute frame against Ryan Turner, just edging it out at the end.

With Kirkstead 9 - 8 up with a frame to play looking for their second victory on the trot, Simon Baxter stood up to the plate for the Regency and after missing his last ball on a big clearance, W Blackshaw went pot mode (when an easy lay up was on the cards) & left Simon in for a quality fine cut to level the match 9 - 9.

With plenty of food & free tables to practice on a welcome was given to all.
